Kathleen Adams

Kathleen Adams, 78, of Cookeville, will be held at 5 p.m. today, Friday, April 13, at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Buddy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Friday, April 13, from 3 p.m. until service time at 5 p.m.Mrs. Adams passed away Thursday morning, April 12, 2018, at her home.She was born March 15, 1940, in Crossville, to the late Alton Sr. and Lenora Elmore Witt.Mrs. Adams was a member of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. She worked in the banking profession in both Chattanooga and Cookeville. She also was an entrepreneur. She opened the Chocolate Drop in Cookeville that specialized in cakes and cake decorating classes. Kathy later opened Liberty Cake Company on the square where she continued teaching others to decorate cakes. She made wonderful cakes there as well along with serving delicious lunches. She was also an artist in painting sceneries.She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and caregiver for her family.  She is survived by her husband, Hugh Adams; three daughters, Cindy (Raoul) Russell of Pakistan, Ginny (Bryan) Henson of Cookeville, and Lisa Mabrey of Cookeville; step-children, Teresa Adams (Gay Shepherd), Tammy (Mickey) Ryan, and Tina Bartlett, all of Cookeville, and Tony (Heather) Adams of Washington D.C.; sister, Margaret (Dr. James Smith) of Cookeville; brother, Al (Sandra) Witt, Jr. of Chatsworth, Georgia; grandchildren, Zach (Sarah) Henson, and Emily Kathleen (Jamie) Henson Starkey, all of Cookeville; and David Steine of Brooklyn, New York; step-grandchildren, Austin, Justin, and Tamika Ryan, Autumn Kinniard, Andy Adams, Reece Bilbrey, Tianna Bilbrey, and Adelia Adams; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Noah Hunt, Winnie Kathleen Henson;  and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Penner; and nephews, Mike and Chris Smith.Pallbearers will be... Leah Ethel Redmon

Leah Ethel Redmon, 80, of Baxter, will be held Tuesday, April 10, at 1 p.m. at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Arlington of Tennessee Cemetery. Pastor Wayne Redmon and Pastor Jim Short will officiate. Her family will receive friends today, Monday, April 9, from 4-8 p.m., and again Tuesday, April 10, from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.Mrs. Redmon passed away Saturday evening, April 7, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born June 27, 1937, in Statesboro, Georgia, to the late Sumpter Lloyd and Rubena Donaldson Johnson.  She attended Central High School in Wartburg and later was a graduate of Life Christian University.Ethel was a woman of deep faith who expressed love for others.  She was an evangelist with the Body of Christ Ministry.  She always saw the positive side of life and of people.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth David Redmon; and by four grandchildren, Teresa Dawn Redmon, Kenneth Wayne Redmon, Jr., Leah Hope Cunningham and William Daniels.She is survived by her adoring family, her 16 children, Pastor Wayne (Crystal) Redmon, Teresa All Martin, Lille (Gary) Dyke, Jill Newman, Jan (Ricky) Nicholas, Joy (Michael) Mayes, Sandy Cunningham, Dave (Sheila) Redmon, Ricky (Karen) Redmon, Thomas (Kathie) Redmon, Gwen (Barry) Close, Tina Copeland, Chad (Tammy) Redmon, Melody (Keith) Fry, Freddy (Hannah) Redmon and Faith (Monty) Perry; 33 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and by sister, Yvonne Melhorn.Gary Dyke, Mike Mayes, Barry Close, Ricky Nicholas, Kenny Cunningham and Douglas Mayes will serve as pallbearers.Memorial contributions may be made to Body of Christ Ministries, 13310 Old Baxter Rd., Silver Point, TN 38582.Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements, 526-6111.
